Things I'm noticing

Inevitably people will ask me about the differences between NZ and the States. At times it seems like we're similar, but then, on closer look, there are heaps of differences! So I'll keep a running list. Here are the first of, what I'm sure will be, many.

* Everything is green and gorgeous! Even the driveway of Carey Baptist College is overflowing with beauty!

* People don't have personal DVD players in their cars. I didn't see any kids watching "moobies" in the backseat of mini vans tonight. Come to think of it I didn't see mini vans either.

* Portion sizes are teeny tiny. The large coffee at a shop we went to was 12 oz. The other size was an 8 oz. For a girl who likes her grande (16oz) it seemed muy pequeno! However, the coffee here is better than at home so it all evens out in the end.

* There are very few billboards on the motor way.

* Kiwi television advertisements have dramatically improved since I was here last to the point that they are way more entertaining and creative than those at home.

* The tile floors in Pip's parents bathrooms are heated ... a nice surprise :)

* We went and saw Iron Man today and the new theatre's seats are almost like luxury recliners! My mom would love it!

I think that's all for now. There will be more to follow, I'm sure of it.
